BAD BREATH Most bad breath, halitosis, comes from the gums and tongue. It's generally caused by bacteria from decaying food particles and/or oral hygiene. To prevent this type of bad breath: brush twice a day and floss once a day. Clean your tongue with your toothbrush or a tongue scraper. Use a mouth rinse that contains chlorine dioxide. Other types of mouthwashes may only mask bad breath. Clean dentures or remove dental pieces daily. Visit your dentist regularly. If your dentist can't determine the source of your bad breath, talk to your doctor. Source: Academy
